An examination can help identify what needs attention and whether chiropractic care is appropriate. Some symptoms need medical evaluation outside our office, and we’ll explain when that is the case.
If you have been told you have whiplash, let us know about that diagnosis and any care you have received. New numbness, tingling, weakness, or dizziness after a crash should be assessed promptly by a medical professional; do not wait for a routine office appointment.

Dr. Cordima asks how the accident happened, where you were sitting, and whether the impact came from behind, the side, or the front. His evaluation includes a physical and neurological examination and a review of whether digital X-rays or another medical evaluation are needed. He documents the history and findings carefully for your care and relevant claim records.

If you have pain, stiffness, or other symptoms after a crash, seek an evaluation promptly. An examination helps determine what needs attention and whether care in our office is appropriate. Severe or worsening symptoms need urgent medical evaluation.
Symptoms often begin within hours to days. If neck pain or other symptoms first appear or become noticeable in the weeks after an accident, have them evaluated rather than assuming the cause. Tell Dr. Cordima when the accident happened and when your symptoms began, even if you initially felt fine.
Yes, if you do not need emergency medical care, you can schedule an evaluation with Dr. Cordima without first visiting the ER or your primary doctor. No medical referral is needed. Your history and examination help determine whether care here is appropriate or whether you need another medical evaluation. After a major accident, or with severe or worsening pain, new weakness, trouble walking, a severe headache, confusion, loss of consciousness, or loss of bladder or bowel control, seek immediate medical care instead of waiting for an office appointment.
An evaluation can help determine whether chiropractic care is an appropriate option for your situation. Dr. Cordima will review your symptoms, history, and findings before making recommendations. Some injuries require another type of care. An evaluation does not guarantee a particular outcome.
Not everyone needs imaging. Your symptoms, accident history, and examination help determine whether tests are needed. X-rays can identify certain bone injuries, while MRI can assess some soft tissues. A normal X-ray does not rule out every injury.
Recovery varies, and there is no single timeline or treatment schedule that fits everyone. Dr. Cordima will discuss your findings, review your progress, and adjust recommendations when appropriate. We do not promise a specific recovery time or result.
Yes. Let us know about your hospital visit and any instructions you received. Bring available discharge paperwork, imaging reports, and medication information so Dr. Cordima can review them as part of your evaluation.
You can still contact our office to discuss an evaluation. Tell us when the accident occurred and when your symptoms started. Follow any instructions from the clinicians who have already evaluated you.
Bring a photo ID, available auto insurance and claim information, health insurance information if you have it, a medication list, and any relevant medical records. If you have an attorney, bring their contact information. If you are missing paperwork, call us—we can explain what is needed.
Where you were sitting, the direction of impact, and when symptoms began help Dr. Cordima understand what to focus on during your examination. He documents your history and findings so there is a clear record for your care and any relevant claim paperwork.
